Try looking in the Vendor Market Place.....I think SNG Barratt has kits but there are sure to be others. I know that the mast element was bent on mine years back and I obtained a replacement mast that was simple to install rather than purchasing an entire motorized unit.

The many sponsors here can quote you a price. Many folks on the forum just disconnect or use a marine antenna wrapped around the interior of the boot.

If you still want the mast that moves up and down as the OEM does, but don't want to pay the price, I've read the Mazda Miata 1999 - 2005 retractable antenna is a good fit.

If you try using "search" you may find a good tutorial on the antenna delete. Basically it does away with the periscope and you then use a wire boat antenna that goes into the trunk lid. Parts ran me @$40 took maybe 2-3 hours to do no cutting or drilling or anything like that.

The good - I retained the same FM reception previously enjoyed. Looked a LOT better. Low cost. Nothing shows visibly

The bad - some say good... you lose AM reception completely but that was never an issue as I never listened to AM anyway

Before doing anything further, can you tell us the problem with the antenna? Is it that it will not retract fully? Or extend fully? If that is the issue then please note: in most cases there is nothing at all wrong with the antenna or motor. What does happen is that dirt and corrosion interfere with full retraction or extension, a problem very easily rectified with 5 minutes work, some wd40 and a bit of metal polish. In severe cases the dirt and corrosion are so bad that the motor cannot overcome the friction: result: the nylon cord breaks.

Barring the last scenario (breakage), the solution is to extend the antenna fully - and in some cases this means helping it manually as the antenna motor is working to raise it. Once it is fully extended, use wd40 or similar to clean all the dirt at the segment joints. Once this is done, polish the entire antenna mast with metal polish (upward strokes near the segment joints so that you do not force polish into those areas)...,there put some silicone spray on a cloth and liberally wipe UP the antenna shaft. If the antenna is bent then it can be gently persuaded back into shape befor the cleaning process begins.
It has taken longer to describe the process than it takes to actually do it! Now the antenna unit is good for another decade. The units can and do last years and years if cleaned and lubricated occasionally. I have brought numerous aerial units back to perfect functioning this way.
And I think the.electric antennas are neat.

If the problem is the mast, i.e. its broken, you can replace it with one for the XK8, as they are apparently the same. See this thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...lacement-8478/

You can get a replacement mast for $15 - $20, and apparently the replacement task only takes ~15 minutes.

EDIT: I just ordered the one mentioned near the end of the above thread, thought it would be useful to have as a spare, while they're available. Found it on Amazon for $19.99:

Amazon Amazon

Both posts are excellent! Explains the process in very good detail!
You nailed it.

Default 2007 Antenna problems

Purchased a 2007 Jaguar.....Antenna just popped out of the mast and dragged the ground for some time before a considerate driver signaled me that there was some attention needed to the rear of my car....LOL. The antenna mast is easy enough to replace. you can get one on ebay for less then $20.00 Do not pull the whole antenna mast Assy. from the car, as I did....it's not necessary to replace the mast....My problem now is that.... there was NO antenna retaining nut screwed onto the top of the antenna mast to begin with......and you can't buy one. Has anyone purchased a full antenna mast from Jaguar or aftermarket.....if so you will have an extra antenna Mast retaining nut I would be happy to purchase from you.....or does anyone know of a place where one can be purchased ....Thank You

The nut should be a universal thing, I would think. How about one from a junkyard? Or from a source like Coventry West or Welsh Jaguar? The mystery is how the nut came loose in the first place.

I think its two pieces....I've tried junkyards....seems no one at a junkyard is going to look for a retaining nut on an antenna. have located an 07 jag in a bone yard....I called twice yesterday.....said they would look but I haven't heard back from them....Not going to hold my breath on getting a return call....LOL

In calling around it seems other people have been looking for this item.....You think Jaguar would make them available in parts dept......

Yet another example of the discourtesy of so many who ask for help and then disappear - or who ask for help and do not acknowledge the help when it is given.
