Default 2007 xkr paddle shift how does it work

hi, have sold my 04 xk8 for 07 xkr, just ever used automatic, bought car from a dealer who took as a trade in,non-jag dealer, he wasn,t sure how to use either. What are the step to engage and how to operate in all modes

It's pretty cool and pretty high tech. As you can tell by looking you have the two shifter positions, D and S, S being for sport. In either position the paddle shifters will operate. As soon as you hit the + or - paddles the gear selection indicator on the dash changes from PRND or PRNDs to 1 2 3 4 5 6 (freaking cool). When D is selected on the shifter the manual selection will revet back to auto mode in a few minutes of driving. If you are in S mode it will remain in manual until you return the shifter to D. The owners manual says in D you can change it back to auto by holding the + paddle for 1 or 2 seconds (I've never tried it). That's the short sweet version, go ahead and play with it.

thanks for that, will play about with it, i have a thread under the heading 2007 xkr a/c leak fix maybe you could view and give me some feedback
