Default 2008 Portfolio Top Color

Hi all I have a 2008 XKR Portfolio that is in need of a new top because the rear screen is coming unglued. I've heard that GAHH is the best brand to get. They offer two colors - black and indigo black.

My top looks black but does anyone know if there is a correct answer? Or was indigo black just another option?

Thanks for the help.

Yes they list it as indigo-black.

Is that the correct top color for a 2008 portfolio?

Looking at their site, I guess you're talking about "German Sonnenland A5 141 Indigo/Black". It seems the 'black' here refers to edging, backing or something. The colour is indigo blue, not black. Just as "German Sonnenland A5 143 Bordeaux/Black" is red, not black and "German Sonnenland A5 150 Green/Black" is green, not black.

'Indigo' isn't a shade of black. It's a very dark blue.

GAHH offer a huge range of shades. Probably only they could tell you which one most closely matched the shade of the material used by the factory. Jaguar just called it 'Black'.

Thanks.

I reached out to GAHH and they told me that the factory top color is Indigo….of course it’s out of stock at the moment.

Appreciate the help.

You might want to try reattaching that rear glass as I did. It was an easy and inexpensive DIY repair that extended the life of my top, and it's still holding.

See this thread, starting with my post #104, for details and pix of how to fix the separating rear window using Suck N Clamps and Rhino Glue.

Stuart, thanks for the tip. I actually did exactly that about a year and a half ago and it is coming undone again. Maybe worth another shot though.
