Oh, the 2014 XKR-S GT should be ‘funner’:

(Still pissed that the 2015 Final Fifty ‘vert sold recently went to a dealer, now trying to flip it for $10K more… )

2009 XKR Portfolio Convertible on BAT sold for $40,850 in January 2022. No Adaptive Cruise or Alcon brakes.

  • The odo say 29,xxx miles. Just below 30K. So the owner can list it as a 30K car. What do rollbacks alwa
  • The tires are Yokohamas, not original. While it's certainly possible an owner replaced aging tires, the originals are certainly good for more than 30K.
  • Unless someone spent a few years flinging sand at the body, that car's too scratched to be 30K. My 80K XK, a year older, has paint that looks far better than that one.
  • There's no service records. The car was only owned my two owners, so there's no reason the records shouldn't be there from an owner who had it for ten years -- unless they're being held back.
Am I 100% certain? No way to tell, but I'd walk if it were a curb sale.

I wouldn't be surprised that the tyres have been replaced after 30k but that key fob is really bad. I would hope that the second one is much better but I'm guessing that it has been lost.

I am the 2nd owner of my 2010 XK Coupe purchased with 4,500 miles from the original owner (elderly gentleman) with the original OEM Dunlop summer tires. Currently, my original Dunlops have 14,200 miles, with the rears down to close to the 2/32nd mark. I am a super conservative driver, and can confirm that our tires can wear fairly quickly.

I think you guys are being overly harsh.
Alcons, 20” Sentas, Adaptive Cruise, 4.2 Supercharged, adaptive suspension, premium sound…. all at 30,000 miles FOR 12K??!!

Sure, you can keep the cheap rubber, I’d be changing it anyways.
Any competent autobody shop would have that polished up in 4 hours.
And you’re worried about scratches on the fob cover? Really?? I get the cover replaced every couple of years from the dealer at minimum cost.

As for service records, simply sourced from a Jag service counter. I’ve done this umpteen times.

If I were in the market, I’d get it.

Ugh, the current high bidder ‘guftring’ is a dealer, or dealer’s agent, so good luck bidding against him, and when he wins, the car will be on the dealer’s website for $10k over the purchase price.
They claim they don’t have inventory, so just snapping up stuff to resell. If I had the spare capital, I’d bid it up, just to make him pay through the nose for it. The BAT price will probably be a fair value for it, not his marked up price.

Maybe it was driven only on weekends by a little old lady ... a quarter-mile at a time!

I'm not surprised that it didn't sell. The highest bid was $17,250 with only 30K miles, Adaptive Cruise and Alcon brakes and a desirable color combination. Compare it to the 2009 XKR Portfolio Convertible in Post #3, above, that sold for $40,850.

Do a bit of refurb, pay a pro to detail to the nines and pay a professional photog and it will go for 10k more easy. Way more than the items I mention will cost.

You really are expected to sell cars a certain way on BAT.
