It looks like the '09 XKR will still have the J Shifter instead of the JaguarDrive...at least this website still shows the J Shifter: http://www.leftlanenews.com/jaguar-xkr-portfolio.html

Just curious for the price of the XK/XKR why no LED tailights...at least LED brake lights.

Probably the contract with Phillips?

The best part of the 2009 is it will have the 500+hp 5.0v8

Grrr....bought it1 year too early...lol. There will always be changes every year so I can't complain. Looks like it's going to be a 5.0 V8 SC. I guess I'll need a SC Pulley, Exhaust and ECU Chip just to keep close....LOL. Is the 500+HP confirmed for '09? I know it'll be shared with the RR.In the article it's still showing 420HP for '09. They do need to bump the HP to compete with BMW, MB, Audi and AM.

Supposedly, the 2009 XKR will have the 5.0 V8 along with the XFR when it comes.
Things are always subject to change though...lol

Seeing as the 2009 Portfolio was just announced and has no engine change I'm guessing the 2009 XKR will have the same 4.2L S/C engine for 2009, unless they would put an older engine in the Portfolio.

i wonder on the $ for the XFR. Will people rather buy a xfr over a xkr ... and the xfr will be more practical.. with 4 doors..

I went the other way around....from practical (4 doors) to the XKR although I have 3 other cars to drive. Bord of 3 sedans so had to get rid of one and buya coupe. If it's the only car they can have thenI'm sure they would seriously look at the XKF over the XKR although I've known some peeps who had a Vette as their only daily driver and drove it in the midwest winters.....nuts!

What I don't like is the performance numbers will be almost the same between the cars...great for the XKF though. I guess most automakers are this way.......ie. MB C63: 3.9 sec // MB SL55: 4.5 sec

Will this be based on a bored and stroked version of the AJ-V8? (I know a 4.5 liter is possible with the stock bore diameter alone)

Do you know if the supercharger/Intercooler arrangement will be the same?
