Default 2010+ USB/Ipod Interface

Does anyone know if the USB/Ipod interface is made by Dension? I have a large usb stick that works, but I get the "Docking USB" message for a few minutes before it is ready. I found this utility that will pre-index the files:

I have large music collections on my portable USB device and takes a long time to index it. - Powered by Kayako fusion Help Desk Software

Anybody know if this will work?

Well, I'll give it a shot. Need awhile to try, but I'll be back..................... 64GB PNY with 9100+ songs.

Thanks! If I wasn't at the office I would have given it a go.

Well, my USB Flash has always been defragmented, but I did it again before I started. Showed zero frags. Anyway, the Gateway Indexer took just over 16 minutes to complete.
Normally, my car takes nearly two minutes to finally read the drive. Result AFTER doing the index........... about a minute and forty seconds.
So, depending on how accurate my "nearly two minutes" was by guessing beforehand, indexing MAY save a few seconds but not a miraculous INSTANT ON that I had hoped for.
Conclusion......
It doesn't seem to have hurt anything, so why not give it a shot? Your results may be better than mine. I'd be interested in knowing.

Thanks for checking. I'll give it a shot when I get some time. What drives me nuts is that some days, I turn on my car and the music starts playing right away, other days, full re-scan.

Mine always takes awhile, but what drives ME nuts is that sometimes it will play automatically from where I left off, sometimes it's on PAUSE where I left off, sometimes it starts from my first folder (really annoying, I have over 600 folders, one for each artist) and worst is Paused on First Folder. Grrrr!

I only have about 120 songs on my flash drive and I get the same message (docking USB) most of the time when starting the car. Its stays that way for a long time, so I just go to the radio. Other times, I start the car and the music is already playing. I don't believe my songs are pre indexed as I am not savvy when it comes to transfering songs from my itumes. The other issue with my music is that my Iphone 6 shows "device not recognized" after the first phone upgrade. I haven't gotten it to work since. I've given up as music is not why I purchased the car. Regardless, it's nice to have things work properly.

Default Official Dension Update

I tried the indexer with no improvement in startup speed... I opened a ticket with Dension and got this response :

Dear SeanU,

I am not very familiar with the OEM devices but as I know there is no indexer for the device what you have.
Unfortunately, you need to wait until the device finish the indexing.

Thank you for contacting us. Best regards...

As a side note, I opened the latest downloadable firmware in a hex editor, and found no reference to the index files.
Here are the file names I could find :
GW_CFG.BIN
GW_CFG.CFG
GW_EES.BIN
GW_LOG.TXT

I'm going to try one of those cheap $12 ipod bluetooth adapters with the ipod cable next.

Me, I don't use anything CrApple. Refuse to buy into their "apple = cool" marketing and premium pricing for mediocre products. Hope it works for you though.
