Default 2010 XK extended warranty?

We had an extended warranty with our 2007 XK and sold it with 58K. We never needed to use the warranty. I'm thinking we wasted money on it and are thinking about not getting one with the 2010 we're about to buy. What do you all think?

Shop around for the Jaguar Extended Warranty (Special Limited Warranty). If you want the Jaguar extended warranty you will need to buy it before the original warranty expires. All Jaguar dealerships may not charge the same premium for the coverage. They will deal on the price.

After the original warranty expires and you have NOT bought the extended via the Jag dealership, then you will fall into a category of a Third Party Vendor or Administator for the coverage.

I did not buy the coverage for my 2009. I have 14,500 on the car and have not had any problems and don't foresee any. The TPA plans can vary widely in price. Most Jag dealers like to work with Fidelity out of Florida that is administered by Jim Moran.

You can do some resarch on Jim Moran via the internet. There is quite a bit of input here on the Jag Forum ref this subject. Do a search here on Jag Forums for other peoples opinions and what they might have experienced.

Hope this helps.

The seller of this product is doing it to make money so the odds of you get more than you put in is less then 50% and with all of the overhead in selling this type of product it's a lot less the 50%. For some, it buys piece of mind.

I bought an extended warranty on my jag (easy care). On my previous Porsche 911 turbo, I had an extended warranty and I came out ahead. It's also much easier to sell your car 3rd party if you still have some warranty left

If you get an extended warranty, I'm sure it will be 3rd party. If you are buying from a Jaguar dealership, you should be able to get a 2 year extension through a CPO certified car, but of course you will be paying premium dollars for it.
