For comparison, in Switzerland a 2008 XKR convertible is for sale for >100,000 US-$.
30 miles only on the clock, registered for one day in 2008, no factory warranty, of course.
Anyone interested?

;-)

I’m thinking it’ll sell at, or just under, $30, before fees. I’m not a fan of silver but they certainly did a good job with that one!

I wonder about all the hoses, gaskets, and so on in a car that was not moved for more than a decade…
… without factory warranty, a very risky deal in my eyes.

[QUOTE=ralphwg;2545812]My guess is 28-30k

25 to 30K seems to be smart money right now. As of this evening the bid holds at $17,500 with 3 days to go.

Prices at anytime other than the last 30 minutes are generally inconsequential to the actual selling price as so much movement occurs in that time period, especially on BAT.

I couldn't agree with you more and I would expand upon that by noting that the majority of the bidding seems to actually occur within the last FIVE minutes! Since I opened this can however I felt somewhat obligated to provide updates as we approach the close of this auction. And the post has been viewed over 1200 times. Also since my XKR goes on the site next week or so I am nervously interested in how the market is responding!

I frequently see the very last and winning bid from a buyer with his very first and only bid.

I have seen that also. It seems like a good strategy to me to wait out the most frequent bids and come into the process late as a "new" bidder. Would have a demoralizing effect on me if I had been bidding for some time and thought I was close to the end. In any event I will be watching closely in real time.

The way I always bid in such a circumstance is to place my first and only bid, as bocatrip has indicated, at the top price I'd be willing to pay. I don't bid over that.

That's the best strategy. It takes will power and detaching your emotions from the car.

$29,750...Just what we anticipated. I personally thought this car could have brought a little more if the seller detailed the car better with quality pictures. The potential for more dollars was there, but it did sell in the correct price range.

Quite an auction. Sold for $29,750. I noticed several other folks from the Forum jumping in with commentary. A lot of fun. Seemed like fair money for a nice, low mileage example.

With BAT the buyer pays 5% of the selling price, $1497.50 in this case. The percentage paid does have a maximum cap for "higher" priced cars. Plus $29750 or $31,247.50!
