I just emailed a buddy of mine who is in the brake business about his thoughts on ceramic pads for the XKR. I sent him some of the links on past forum discussions on ceramic brake pads.
He asked me if the 2011 XKR had Alcon brake packages. I said I'd check with the HPB's (hundred pound brains) on the forum.
8bit is right. The Alcon High Performance Brake Package was standard equipment on the top-of-the-line North American market 2008 XKR Portfolio models and a $5,000 option on the 2009 XKR Portfolio models. They were the largest brakes ever fitted to a production Jaguar, until the carbon-ceramic brakes were offered on the F-Type.
No, all 5.0 XKRs except the R-S GT have Continental ATE (a.k.a. "Teves") systems; 380x36mm front, dual 42mm pistons, floating calliper; 376x26mm rear, single 45mm piston, floating calliper
Considering doing front brakes myself and looking for feedback, suggestions, recommendations etc. ceramic vs semi metallic? Slotted rotors? Brembo pads? Pitfalls and/or tricks?

are definitely the best you can buy for the car Alcon ceramics take warming up and if you are not on the track and you coming to town, they won’t work very well and they don’t work well in winter I was recommended these by swallows a recognize jag specialist, who race all the time The plate is private, but if you see this call Don’t race there is not a Lamborghini Porsche or Ferrari that can beat this car, it’s not a wolf in sheep‘s clothing. It’s a tiger.
