Default 2012 XKRS for $73K USD

This could be a very good deal for somebody... Only 5,000 miles on it.

Considering the currency conversion, this does make this XKR-S quite attractive. $72,670 USD....

What are details of buying in Canada and importing into the USA on a car like this. I am sure there are custom fee's, and other monetary considerations.

Does anybody know?

Ahhhhhh, those are the seats I wanted!!! Very nice. Looks like a great find, if it's been privately owned.

I rather buy new, the depreciation sucks but at least I have peace of mind that no one has used it in a rodeo or who knows what else. Its clean under warranty and had 40 miles on it when I picked it up. The only problem with it were the dealer installed swirls.

Info on importing a Canadian automobile into the USA......

Importing a Motor Vehicle | U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Looks like a 2.5% Duties Fee.....and the car might have a Gas Guzzler Tax assessed. I would think the estimated MPG for an XKR-S is under the 22.5 MPG standard.

This is interesting reading. It's an education.

Without the Gas Guzzler tax, then this car offered in Canada looks like a great buy for an American. The price is right and if the seller can come down by $1000 USD then that would cover also 50%+ of the 2.5% Duty Fee ($1820 USD).

Probably worth exploring for someone living in the Upper Midwest or Northern East Coast area, due to shipping or just flying into Ontario and driving it across the border. I would think that several Canadian autos are imported quite regularly and all one would need is someone who has done this in the past, and can provide some insight on secruing the correct paperwork to get thru CBP.

Of course, you must like the French Blue, which would NOT be my first choice.

I think it may be hard to duplicate the deal here in the USA currently.

The depreciation on these cars are enormous, but at $73,000 it is well worth the effort to see if a deal can actually happen. I am sure this car had a MSRP of over $130,000 or so.

This is why I plan on buying a new Jaguar XE but a used F-Type... I can see a F-Type RS coming out a year after the R (followed by a RS GT after that). The F-Type RS will cost about 132,000 new in 2016??? Give it 3 yrs and get one with a select warranty extension of 2 yrs/50k more miles - Therefore I am looking at a 70-80k F-type RS with 3 yrs warranty in 2019-2020. I can only imagine what a F-Type R will go for used then...maybe 60k with 10-15k miles?

I love the blue, but carbon fiber patterned leather just does not speak "Jaguar" to me.

My FRB has the black/red center seats. In photos, I thought they looked weird on such a bright blue car... and I went to view/drive the car fully expecting to leave it behind.

But, in person, the red seats didn't bother me. And I got the deal I wanted... so the rest is history.

Given a choice, though, I absolutely would prefer those blue-stitched seats in this Canadian car. VERY nice!

Default Bogus

This could be a bogus ad. It is to good of a deal to be true. I called with no answer. the message says "too busy to answer". I also replied with an email and my reply was bounced back to me as if I were the seller. The ad is very terse and mentions nothing bout the history or warranty.

Jaguars in Canada in general cost 20% more and are subject to a 6.2% non NAFTA duty, as they are not manufactured in North America. Has anyone else tried to contact this seller?

Edit: Bounced back reply may be autotrader sending me a noreply...copy.

I personally have never been big on that blue color...not for me.

I found a 2012 XKR-S at a Lotus dealership in Greenville, SC. Black pack, 2 tone (Camel/black) interior, pristine condition with 11 thousand miles. I called yesterday...

They sold it the day before for $72K!!! ****...

This is a fraud. The seller replied to my query. They are using a low corner lot used car lot as their address in Denver, CO, with no car valued over $10,000 on the lot. Their website only shows exotics. Nothing adds up. They say all import taxes and paper work is taken care of for importing the car into Canada which no dealer will do. I imported my XKR into Canada from West Palm Springs, Florida, and the buyer needs to pay 6.2% importing duty and 5% of the GST tax before importing it.

So many scams out there today...Buyer-be-ware.
