Makes me wonder how hard it would be to hit that with the F-Type R

Makes me wonder how you'd get traction... ever.

If Jag wants to compete with a 911tt then they need to go a GT3ish route. Like one reviewer said - there are motors to control the vents and that adds weight. Add all of the power you want but it is going to need to be at 3,000 pounds to be a REAL competitor. It is grossly overweight for the size car.

I like my XKR better than a 911TT - its certainly better looking and better for my needs.

What precisely are we discussing here? 996 based 2000-2004 Turbo? They were still a scary mess in slalom and pushed at limit!. 997-based 2005-2010? That's a serious machine by a company that spares little effort to challenge competitors 2-3x as much.

How far to the limit is a Jag XKR owner willing to go? Track level? Well spare yourself, the factory hasn't proven capable of making a car the press doesn't consider scary. Street wise, probably just fine.

Weight? That is not the issue. Chevy has heavier Camaros that are doing just fine in most cases against Ferrari mid-engine (see Car and Driver at Viriginia International Raceyway, VIR). Factory has to put in the effort. You and I with our local mechanic are orders of magnitude behind getting this right precisely. That said, I'm driving a Jag, not a Camrao SS LL1. But we learn from experience, ideology that can't handle facts = delusion.
