I recently had my front left strut mount replaced due to a loud clunk on my 2013 XK. Soon after leaving the mechanic, a yellow light on my dash appeared " Adaptive Dynamics Fault". I drove back to the mechanic and he fixed it. I drove about 70 miles over the next few days and the light reappeared. In doing some reading, it appears the Adaptive Dynamics sensor wiring could be bad and easily fixed. I looked under the hood and noticed the plastic clip on the sensor where it attaches to the damper is broken. Does anyone know if I can buy just the clip or just the wiring harness? Ive attached a picture of the part I'm needing.
All connectors are easily sourced. See the connectors jpeg for the number on the part. Incidentally, I use “liquid electrical tape” on the end of the connectors, where the harness meets the connector. (easily sourced at any marine shop). The little effort mitigates the need for repairs like this and gives me the value of allowing pressure washing of the engine bay, without ill effect.
I was told by a local guy that the wiring harness/sensor is part of the shock, which would mean I would have to replace the entire shock to fix it properly. I plan to just use the liquid electrical tape to ensure a tight hold. The sensor holds for awhile but just slowly loses connection over time due to movement.
