Default Adaptive headlight repair

I am setting a fault for left actuator.

I have read all the threads and not coming up with much.

I disassembled the headlight yesterday hoping to find an obvious issue, broken wire etc, but no luck.

I am not willing to $1800 to replace or even $600-$800 for a used one.

I am surprised no one is able to service these.

Any thoughts suggestions appreciated.

I had the same issue a couple of years ago and was able to find a good used unit for about $300 and have had no issue since. However, it seems to me that the module that contains the little motor that controls the movement should be replaceable.

Ok thanks. I sent them a note.

Any idea if it's the actuator or the controller that goes bad?

I can only speculate.. but last time they told me that a very common issue is actually in the wires.. the internal wire breaks and renders the controller inoperative. They replace the wires and everything works again.. obviously I have no idea what is wrong with yours.. I'd say give them a call, explain what the problem is and see if they can diagnose..
