For the past week or so my AC has been making a clicking sound. The sound is noticeably louder when I am standing outside of the car. Yesterday the clicking stopped.....unfortunately the cold air stopped as well!

Any suggestions?

BTW, I have a brand new blower motor so I don't think that it is the culprit. Besides when the blower motor went bad it made a chirping noise that definitely sounded like it was coming from inside the car.

 

Clicking? A good chance it's the magnetic clutch that the fanbelt uses to drive the compressor. Or the relay that controls the clutch. If it's the relay it's a 40 dollar part. If it's the magnetic clutch it gets more pricey from there.

 

Assuming the diagnostics haven't changed in later XKs try the procedure here to display any diagnostic codes

I tried to pull the AC codes using the diagnostic process outlined above. However it did not work!
