Default Airbag - B0001B - Circuit Resistance Above Threshold

Airbag or Driver Frontal Stage 1 Deployment Control
- B0001B - Circuit Resistance Above Threshold

Got the amber indicator that looks like a person with a big ball in their lap.

Anyone got any ideas what can be causing this?

Quick fix?

Give me good news...

Sounds like a loose connector or possibly the clock spring. Just a guess though.

Pardon my ignorance but which connector would you be referring to?

Secondly, I know little about said clock spring. Is this a part that would need to be replaced? Or is it something that is able to be adjusted etc.

Go to YOUTUBE and input CLOCK SPRING or CLOCKSPRING. There are several videos showing how to remove and install a Clock Spring in different vehicles. No Jaguars of course, but it'll give you an idea of just what a clockspring is.

It's bascically a bundle of wire that winds up as you turn the steering wheel back and forth. Most likely one of the wires in the clockspring is making an intermittent connection which in turn causes the code you have.......high resistance and in an open wire.

Here is an example off YOUTUBE:
