My 2011 XK's display screen shows temperatures of mid-80s F (26 C)which is great; however, I live in Arizona where it currently is 105 F today (41 C)!

Searching previous posts I found information on two separate references to AAT sensors locations: under the front bumper and under the left outside mirror. I can touch the one under the mirror; the other, according to the manual, requires removing the front bumper to access.

Is it true that there are two sensors? If so, what is the function of each one?

 

This is an interesting problem. I wonder if the problem I'm having could be similar. I live in NH and maybe 3 or 4 times a year the displayed temp will be 0 deg when it is 60 or 70 deg outside. After about 5 or 10 minutes the correct temp will be displayed. The 0 deg indication goes away and will return on what appears to be at a random interval which might be 1 day or 1 month later. The air conditioner/heating system appears to ignore the incorrectly displayed temp because the "auto" setting does not kick in max heat even when the temp display is 0 deg. It is not a functional problem, just an annoyance that I would like to correct.

 

Your 0 degree reading is a known issue, and there is a TSB about it. Think it just requires a software update to correct it.

 

I had the same issue .Solved when I changed the mirror sensor.You will find many threads about this issue.

 

Thank-you KJ07XK on the reference to the TSB. I found TSB JTB00065 ver 2 updated 6 November 2007. Sure enough, it covers my VIN. I'm setting up an appointment at the dealer next week as 59F deg days are sure to arrive in the next 2 months. I have also attached a copy to this message in case anyone else needs to reference the TSB.
