Default "Auto" Headlight Sensor

Anyone know where the sensor is?

There is a thread about this but I can't find it.

Was going to have the headlights programmed to come on (for $250.) with engine start but can accomplish the same thing by simply blocking the sensor. Tried blocking the sensor on the back of the rear view mirror but that didn't seem to work. I do like DRLs.

Thanks,

Think it is the black dome center dash by front window - not the rain sensor by the rearview mirror - not sure but think that is it....

I believe that is correct and is common on most auto makes. Inside near the windshield about center.

Yup, that's it. Thought that was just the housing for the flashing security light.

Thank you Kevin & Lug Nut. You just saved me 250 bucks.

Best regards,

I wont swear this on a Jag, but many cars use that center sensor for the environmental controls as well (direct sunlight adds to the math in an ECU somewhere!).
