Default Battery hot swap

I wanted to use the accessory outlet in the glove box and found it to be hot all of the time. That being the case I wonder if anyone uses this to do a hot swap of a new battery in order to not have to reprogram/re calibrate functions in the car. I've done this in the past but with an outlet it is a simple procedure. As an example all you would have to do is plug in your smart charger adapter into the outlet. Turn on the charger and then remove the - neg. side of the battery . Then remove the + pos and be careful to not hit any metal while doing this (I put a plastic bag over it) . Pull the old battery and install the new one. Put the terminals on in reverse order and you are done.

I use the outlet in the glove box for my video dash cam I have in the car. When I turn on the ignition the video dash cam turns on and when turning the ignition off the cam goes off. So in mine, the outlet is not hot all the time.

Why not run jumper cables from your other car battery to the battery cables in the Jaguar. Remove the terminals from the battery, slip in the new, and hook the cables to the new battery, disconnect the jumper cables.

I too don't want to lose any programming if possible when changing out a battery. I have yet to do this, so I don't know if my idea is viable.

Any comments?

i put in a new battery few weeks ago, lost no codes, get another battery and a set of jump leads. Before dissconecting old battery, connect one jump lead end from donor battery positive to the lead that is attached to the positive on the old battery, there's plenty of room on the lead. Do the same with the other jump lead, negative to negative. Now unscrew battery leads from pillars, lift out old battery, in with new one and tighen leads back on new battery. Take of jump leads, remove donor battery and leads and yur finished with no power loss.

Thanks for the reply. This method is exactly what I was thinking. Now I know it will work.
