Default Battery Tender Installation 2014 XK

Thought I would share my tender installation using positive ring attachment to the positive terminal and the negative ring attachment to the body cross member located below and to the left of the battery. I then used the manufacturer's short extension through the spare wheel well to the rear of the car. An indentation allows the cord to surface at the rear of the car where it attaches to the manufacturers longer extension to the tender device.
When not in use, the cord has an end cap to protect the plug inside the vehicle.
I also hang a red "u-ring" on the driver side door while the device is connected.
This should remind me that the tender is connected prior to my entering the vehicle. When not in use, I simply place the "u-ring" in the driver side door pocket.

Perfect installation.

If you get tired of opening and closing the trunk lid, then consider running the CTEK cord down thru the spare wheel well where you will find a tiny rubber plug that you can slip the CTEK cord or Comfort Extension Cord thru the hole.

Then you can secure the plug from the CTEK to the underneath with an epoxy like JB Weld. Then there is no need to open and close the trunk lid to connect or disconnect each time.

Another option for external connection is to use the outside auxiliary battery jump/charge terminal. Stick your head under the rear drivers side fender behind the tire and look up, the positive battery extension cable terminates and has a rubber boot. No need to run anything from the battery through the wheel well, I don't know if this is on the 4.2L cars but on my 2012 there is an external battery charge access.

Ah, yes, thank you oh wise teacher

I recall now that it was you who told me about that remote jump point in the first place!

We all learn from others on this forum. As I said in that thread, I think I learned about it from a post by Steve 'WhiteXKR' (the 'Professor'), just passing on information.
