Default Best battery jump starter

Hi All, What would you guys recommend as the best battery jump starter for our cars? I recently found my battery (after 4 years) dying and need to get it to my Indy for replacement. I heard that the amperage capacity is important for the bigger engines. I'd prefer to jump it myself and not from another car. I know they have many of these small battery jump starters these days, but want to make sure it will start our V8.I'm sure it's a good device to have around. What would you guys recommend? Preferably, I'd like to buy it on Amazon.

Those small ones are total garbage and aren't worth even one single farthing. Do not buy one, you will regret.

Get a large one.

ALSO, watch THIS guy, he doesn't have sponsors and buys all the items with his own money. I totally trust him...

Buy this one and never get stranded.
(Course, I never get stranded due to battery anyway...)

Unless you're talking battery charger... like hooked up to 120v AC...

I'm really happy with the one I have, it's very similar, but older, to this one on Amazon. I use it also for when I have SDD running.

Thanks Cee Jay... I've been watching Co Parts on You Tube, and these dealers walk around with a battery pack that starts many cars for the day without recharging it. The dealers swear by it. I'd prefer something more portable that I can swing from car to car. Your suggestions are great for a commercial establishment... need something more convenient that can be transported easily. Thanks.

Seriously, watch those Project Farm videos. Dude finds the crappy ones and suggests the ones that actually WORK.

I have no input on portable jump starters, but I took a look at the Project Farm videos and fell into a rabbit hole of watching their great reviews. Thanks for sharing.

Received one for X-Mas, used it for both XKR and S-Type without having to recharge it, small and very portable. Needed to purchase two batteries within the week

The one I use for my projects and tractor is a CAT I got at Costco. It was on sale for like $89 so I figured Screw It.

I have the XP-1 in all my vehicles and have used it several times on my XKR. Even used it to jump start someone's truck.
You just need to remember to make sure it is charged every couple of months so it is ready to use.
Also get the Anti-Gravity tire inflator if, like me, you don't have a spare tire. Saved me $100s of dollars in towing fees when I got a nail in my tire right before Ida hit.

If you want a small one, I’ve had good luck with the Fanttik T8, starts everything.

EDIT: it’s on Amazon for less than $100 and will start a V8 even without a battery.

I bought a NOCO for the boat with twin 8.2 502 mags in it. Sure it would work on the cars, plus it doesnt take up too much room.

Jahummer. Did you get the receptical with the jump starter to charge it up at a wall outlet? I see that they sell this jumper in a few different ways, some include the hard carrying case, and some include that wall adapter to charge it which is essential. Would any wall charger with a usb female receptical work? (like for an iphone)? Thanks.

I got this one, came with the USB charging cable required. It's very well made and came in very nice packaging and a soft bag for the pack and one for the accessories, no hard case.

I bought this one but have never had to use it:-) so I can't say it's the best. I bought it in October 2019 and it's still @ 100% charge. Check it every spring. Sits in a nice hard case in the boot.

Yes, That is the one I've been looking at but I don't see a wall jack to plug in the USB cable for charging the unit. How do i get that wall plug?

My wife had this one for her Lexus. Luckily (???) it was in there when I listened to the radio while she was shopping for a minute. Radio went off and I waited for her to return.
Course the car didn't start, all the lights on the dash would just flash.
I hooked up the FULLY CHARGED Jumper and hit the start button......
The engine cranked MAYBE a half-revolution and then nothing. The pack then showed Depleted.
I called a friend and he came and let me jump using his car (NOT running) and it started perfectly.
These mini-jumpers are a thing I will NEVER trust. A Half-second of mediocre amperage and they are done.

Like so many things of late, it does not come with one so I used the new Apple charger since I've so many.

CeeJay is sort of correct, nothing beats a traditional heavy duty jump pack all though not all of those are created equal, some are rubbish as well. Mine works perfectly and will start a car even without a battery though we also don't know how long they will last over time and use. Many of these Lion ones are rubbish though, take a look at the Project Farm video on YouTube.

EDIT: The Noco ones are quite awful from what Ive heard.

I can only go by personal experience running the boat batteries down while working on it and being to lazy to plug in shore power. Its all a crap shoot from China anyway.
