Default Best option for adding an Auxillary output for IPOD usage

Hey guys,

The one thing that bugs me about my 07 XK8 is the lack of audio Auxillary output..(well input rather) in order to use my iPod. All this technology and no Auxillary input?? My 2007 CAMRY SE has this...I surely expected a jaguar to provide the same. At any rate, I NEED to have access to my iPod tunes!! (without removing the factory NAV).

I'd like to hear options from those who've actually done it successfully.. Thanks!

There is a dealer accessory that will do this -- in fact, do a forum search -- it's been talked about a couple of times.

Keywords you need are ACM - which stands for audio connectivity module.

I have found that a good FM transmitter works perfectly if you live in a rural area or small town far from any major metrolopolis. (Otherwise, your MP3 player will sound like a bad radio station.)

I agree with PABANKER...............there are a number of companies that make a product that plugs into an iPod or iPhone earpiece that then takes the audio output and transmits it via an FM frequency that you choose that not in local use by a radio station and you then tune your radio to that channel and "receive" your iPhone signal and you are then listening to your itunes! The products are cheap and sold everywhere.

I agree it seems wrong not to have streaming bluetooth or just a cord to sync your iphones/ipods music in a car of these caliber. And as far as I understand it....the kit cost about $400 to buy and install??? Please correct me if i'm wrong. That's just too much for what it does, so for now I've burned cd's.
Also, does the FM transmitter have good quality sound? Say on par with mp3s burned to a disc????

i bought my ACM off ebay. $125
installed myself = $0
Flashed nav at jag dealership = $80

got a free car wash from jag = save $10

so i walked away with it all done for $195. I must say, money well spent. it does everything i expected. i wish it charged better. but at least it charges some. i would spend the $400+ to get it done, as now i can not live with out it.

Just my 2 cents

Also, in urban areas, FM transmitters are not much of an option.
