I agree. The factory color for 2009 XKR Portfolio 20" "Selena" wheels was Shadow Grey, the same as the body color.

The center sections are chrome overlays.

Default Problem Solved!

At last, its done! I bought a set of restored F-Type R Gyrodyne alloys from Eb@y and had them fitted today, and what a transformation!

The diamond cut matches the chrome trim, like the original Nevis alloys, but with graphite infills you get a colour contrast and lightness that you dont get with black wheels.
In terms of fitting, the rears stand out 20mm from the originals so fill the arches without interference with the calipers or suspension.

To the front I fitted 15mm spacers to give the tyres clearance from the upper wishbone and fills the arches much better. I've been running with the spacers and the original alloys for the last week and they look way better than standard with the increased offset, so I would recommend front spacers with standard wheels.

I've kept the same tyres for now, and the fronts are a good fit for the 9" wheels, but at the back I will move up to 295/30R20s for better rim protection next time. Some people have gone up to 305/30R20.

I know its in the eye of the beholder but to my eye it's beautiful!

Yes, those look good. Decent sizes also, and I've been looking for some better wheels.
If I may ask, what was the cost?

gyrodyne in diamond cut and hyper silver ...welcome to the exclusive club !

(Having tried gyrodyne in two different colour combos I'm mostly likely going to send them out, have them stripped, polished then cleared just like the finish on the xkrs Vulcan wheels)

I got the set for just over £1100, secondhand but professionally refurbished.
Ebay seller JLR Discount Parts was excellent and replaced 1 distorted wheel quickly and without a fuss. I'm glad the fitter span them up on the balancer before the tyres were changed over.

car in the picture looks pretty damn good to me, even with the polished widow surrounds.🤣👍

Each to their own but I have the feeling if you go black on black, red caljpers are necessary to break it up 👌

I agree, my XES is Carpathian Grey with black pack and black wheels and I looooove it. But I love blue so I think I might paint my red calipers blue sometime soon

Either way some caliper colour definitely suits the dark on dark on dark 👍

I agree, red calipers would breakup the black. But, I myself am over colored calipers. Life would be boring if we all liked the same things.👍

So now I have the new wheels on, do I sell the Nevis alloys?

I know some keep all the original parts but I can't see myself ever putting them on again.

thinking about the same thing with my Artura. They use a lot of space too, and I don’t see myself putting them back on…

I will happily buy the rears. I'd assume you don't want to break the set though.

Hi Cee Jay, thanks but I want to sell as a set, and also shipping from UK to Utah wouldn't be viable.
Best, Chris
