Default BG Coolant flush warranty success

Been a while, just popping in to give a quick review of this service. I am going on 8 years of ownership for my 2012 XK. In March of 2020 I had my car in to the dealer for an oil change, at the same time decided to flush the coolant system. They offered up the BG Flush Service for $210 (that is the BG Flush, coolant and labor), with this came a lifetime warranty that includes water pump with a mileage limit, 30,000 miles. Jokes on them, we only put about 3,000 miles a year on the car so I knew I would be covered for a while. I figured water pump was inevitable so that was an easy call.

Fast forward to now with 48,000 miles we sprung a leak, nothing major but had small coolant loss over time and could see some fluid on the bottom skid tray. Took it back to same dealer and it was confirmed the water pump was weeping a bit, I have seen this situation before and only a matter of time until it full on gushes so glad I addressed it asap. My service guy sent email with claim to BG, they authorized water pump replacement under warranty within 30 minutes. This is one of those occasions when $210 = $1800. Yes, that is dealer price for water pump. But the tech is 26 years repairing Jag's and they know what they are doing, plus it is free so why do I care. Nice guy, got to meet him when they took me on to the floor to review some other stuff they recommended.

Honestly when my adviser was submitting the info I was waiting for some gotcha moment where I find out it wasn't covered, or 50%, or something like that. But he assured me that past dealings they were straight forward in their coverage which they were!

Similar story here with different marque. Warrantee had just expired but fortunately had previously elected for a BG service. They stepped up immediately and paid the main dealer to replace the entire rear diff and axle at a cost of thousands to them and none to me. My X150's under full drive train with BG though not likely I'll ever need it plus with so much modified for track use might not even be covered.

The guarantee comes from the products sold/used. It doesn’t have to be a BG location. Some main dealers use their products but the guarantee’s provided by BG, not
the dealer.
