Default The BIG Spoiler

How many XK owners out there have actually gotten their car with the really nice big spoiler on the back? Does anybody know what years they actually came on and was it an option? I lucked out just bought a 2014 that came with it

Opinion: the big GT spoiler looks terrible.

How did you 'luck out' surely you lucked in??

A picture paints a thousand words, let's see your back end!

Spoiler alert (see what I did there?) the RS GT has a REALLY BIG spoiler, am assuming you've got the standard for the year.

This is an XKR-S spoiler;

This is a newer model Speed Pack spoiler;

Then you have the tiny OEM stock one:

Plus the GT wing above.............

So, what the heck are you talking about?

If Viper has an NA XK it surely has to be the smallest of them, unless someone's been playing with it before his purchase, as don't know anyone with an NA car that has the speed pack, if so I hope that the girls in CT don't fall for that 'I've got a big one' line?

IMHO...bigger spoiler = more down force = more drag = lower fuel economy.

lmao!!! I think it's ridiculous to put a spoiler on top of another spoiler even if it's small enough to just leave it there to use it for a brake light

To me the XKR-S spoiler is not made right to look good on the car.But I heard the black pack and speed packs are the XKR that comes with a bigger spoiler instead of the "why is it there?" looking useless low drag spoiler wing on the back when the XKR looks plain 1998 eclipse as it is from the rear and I got mine changed off IMMEDIATELY as soon I saved up enough money to do so.I don't bother taking before and after pics of my Jag from the rear until i took the low drag spoiler off and made it look better with a bigger 1.But I do got the after pic comparison of how small the spoiler is compared to the black pack or speed pack XKR spoiler size and YES it's an OEM speed pack/Black pack spoiler.I think i paid like $525 for the the bigger spoiler and $250 to get professionally painted and put on for me.I tried to make my XKR look like the black pack since I couldn't find 1 for sale at the time I bought mine and did what I had to do to get the look I needed.But the thing that gets me is idk why they gave the XKR the small spoiler and gave other versions of the XKR bigger spoilers when they all should come with the same specs of just being an XKR.They could've just left the base model XK with smaller spoilers and gave every newer XKR the big spoiler when they came out with the speed and black packs to seperate the difference between the base model XK and the XKR.

This the comparison of the smaller 1 compared to the big spoiler i put on it.Btw i use my oldest brothers name for my account cause he no longer with us and I looked up to him like a father

Since the larger spoiler didn’t come out until a few years later and weren’t as plentiful I reckon the smaller spoiler was already in the parts bin in large numbers. Also if you look at the X150 over the 9 model years it existed it did evolve ever so slightly each year so perhaps it was always a work in progress.

Doesn't always work that way initially.
Spoilers often are used to create less lift, and less drag. (To a point.)

The big rubber tray on the back of my 944 lowers the drag as well as reduces lift.
It is also a great handy place to set odds and ends.

Any reason you've still not posted up a pic?

I agree with Barry L the RS IM(less than H)O looks a little too boxy for the curvy nature of our cars, all XKR's should have had the larger speed/black one and NA should have had the widdle one

Well it certainly is more a proper duck tail and more Vantage-ish.

Didn’t Arden offer an even larger, wider one that went all the way out to the rear corners?
