Default Car lifts

Has anyone used or heard of this lift for your Jag, MSC-6KLP? Any recommended lifts for the XK? Thanks.

I have seen these only on ads before. Haven't seen one in person, but looks kind of sketch to me. I know its tested and proven but I just wouldn't be able to put my Jag up like that and work under it.

My wife bought me the quickjack lift a few months ago. Doesn't lift the car super high but its more than enough for me to get under it if needed and take the wheels off, do brake jobs, oil changes, etc. Best thing is I have it hung up flat on the wall in the garage, it it doesn't really take up any floor space while being stored.

Not sure what kind of work you are planning to do on your XK, but based on my personal experience so far I would recommend the quickjack with accessories. Price is great too.

My 2 cents - I like it based on what I see in the link Phil provided. It appears from the pic that you can open and close the driver door without hitting it. That's important.

Depending on the work you DIY, it may be just fine.
Things to keep in mind if you need a lift to go full rise:
If it's stay in place and you will just drive over it, you need side wall clearance. It looks deep. My garage is too small for that.
You need a high ceiling of course
No garage door opener obstruction or you'd need depth in the garage as is pictured in the link
The car will clear the garage door guide rails obviously so that's not a concern.

I'm no longer dropping transmissions and only changing the trans pan and fluids so there's little reason for me to have a full rise. Full rise are also hard on my neck

I have a third stall just for car work. I use a mid rise lift. It only goes up 39" from the ground.
The mid rise I use is the same one pictured in the linked thread post #1 and here below.

I use it on my XK and my wife's SRX.
It comes with hard rubber flat pads that fit just fine and keep pressure off the body.
I use a mechanics pad, not a creeper.
I have full access to the trans pan, engine mounts, all suspension, brakes of course, steering rack, exhaust.
I had it in a two gar garage before and just drove over it to park. 4 anchor bolts keep it from slipping. It is "portable" but that really just means you can move it around your garage if you have to. It weighs 1200 lbs.

I picked up this old hefty Ben Pearson for $1000. But I built my shop with 12’ walls and peaked trusses to fit it.
