Car shakes a lot when I speed up.

Hi guys.
I'm driving XKR-S

70,000 miles almost now and I got it from the second-handed market a month ago.

the more I speed up, the more car shakes.
I've never driven the car like this, it's so uneasy with its movement.
I can feel that something is wrong.

I found that the stock damper is from bilstein and H&R blue Spring is installed on it.
Is that the possible reason for it?

But I don't know whether it could be the only reason even if it's with H&R.


So that I'm thinking of BC racing coilovers on it. what do you guys think about this?

Most likely to be an out of balance wheel, buckled wheel or incorrect wheel tracking. All are easy and cheap to fix at the same place so should be considered first.

Yes, something is wrong . And springs would probably not be the cause.
But wheels, or how they are affixed to the car probably is.
4 wheel balance and 4 wheel alignment and proper tire pressures is where I would start. At that time confirm bearings, bushings, tie rod ends, etc.

My bet is on the wheels. One unbalanced wheel can really shake the car as you speed up.
Second choice would be tires (had one that was ‘out of round’ and caused vibration).

Definitely try and get to the bottom of the problem first before changing parts for more non-standard ones, which will only make diagnosis harder.
If you have come to a dead end about the source of the problem, get a mechanic you trust to drive it and maybe he (or she) can narrow down the search.
Can you describe the shake in more detail - steering wheel, body of the car, any particular direction, vertical, side to side, etc. More detail might make it easier to direct you from afar.

Thanks for all guys for your time spending to give me an advice.

Wheels are new, but tires wear a lot that I intend to change them within a few days.

Tie rod, and other lower parts are changed mostly.

What I mean by "car shakes" means not for steering wheel,
The more I go over bumps, the more the shaking gets worse.

Sounds less like "shake" and more like a wobble? Meaning, when you go over bumps, especially at speed and very especially if you happen to be turning, it feels like it is out of control for a second and wobbling all over the place? Is that a better description?

Instability over bumps can be as simple as poor alignment. If you are going to put on new tyres anyway, have it realigned at the same time and see how it drives. You need a correctly aligned car with round and balanced tyres before you have any chance of pinpointing other problems.
Have the worn tyres been on the car for a long time? If so, you can read the tread wear to get an idea of what is right or wrong with the alignment. Look for some articles on tyre wear patterns, which will have photos/illustrations of the typical symptoms and their causes.

At 70,000 miles, I would not expect damper failure.
But… if the springs were replaced (and I don”t know why you would do that on that car) … was the job done properly?
For example, was the spring isolator removed when someone messed with the springs?? And if the car was lowered, how was the alignment dealt with?
Also, You mention that you go through tires. We all do but, are they quality tires? what is the wear pattern? Are you over inflated? Is the wear uniform? Are the tires cupped? You mention the wheels have been changed… the list goes on, and sounds like the car has been messed with.

Frankly, I stand behind my previous post and would get the car into the DEALER, return it to SPEC and confirm the components listed.

No worries at all, my friend, I am simply trying to help you and everyone understand what the symptom actually is since those words can be subjective and hard to clarify over text on a forum.

All the advice from the members here in this forum, I will bring my car to professional shop to check all today.
But still doubt they can do this as Jag is not usual here in Korea.

The shop doesn't need to specialize in Jaguar. You're describing issues that lead to tires, wheels, suspension (less likely) or drive line. These are common components of any car.

My apologies @TAEUCK Goo …. I misunderstood the situation.
My assumption from afar is that the suspension has been messed with which gives rise to the poor handling you are experiencing.
Truly, get it back on spec. Then you will have a baseline on how the car should feel. Play with it from there if you wish. (Frankly, I wouldn’t)
I think you will find that it is an exceptional vehicle from the factory…. I’ve driven all models, in all road conditions (and rumor has it at speeds most would shy away from)… Yours is the car I might move to if I didn’t really like mine.

Winding country roads in all conditions is my favourite. Enjoying that requires a car “of balance”.

Now it's fine after returning it to the original,
Tire chagned to P-zero , and springs returned to the Original.

Looks not that much satisfying but happy to find the reason which was a h&R Spring.
