Default CD Data in '13 XKR

I loaded 6 CD's in my '13 XKR and I'm not getting any data (artist, song title, etc.) in the field on the touchscreen for any of them. I have turned on this feature in the options menu (if you don't the field disappears) and the field just says "no entry". Any suggestions?

Sounds like everything is set up right, so do the discs have the data on them?

These are current CD's that showed data in the car we traded in for the XKR. You would think that at least some of them would work in the XKR. I'm just wondering if I have a warranty issue.

Every CD has "data". That is how ITunes reads your CD.

Seems to me if your CD illustrates data in your 2011 Jaguar, then you should have the same or better capabilities in your 2013.

If your 2013 fails this simple comparison test, then I think you have a warranty issue. I think you will find that the burden of proof is on you to "prove" a warranty issue. Suggest you take a CD with you to the dealer and demonstrate capabilities on your car and one of the dealer's cars.

Actually -- that's not true Rey. Some CDs (Red Book audio) format DO have extended tracks on them that can be read by CD players for length, artist, etc. But the majority of the CDs out today still don't do it. The reason iTunes does it every time is that it takes a hash of the CD and looks up the CRC online and gets the track and artist info dynamically from any number of online databases. And there was never a good standard so sometimes they read and sometimes they don't. I'm not saying that there isn't a warranty issue to be had, but reading artist and song title info from CDs often doesn't work at all. And to be honest, I'm not entirely sure the Jag's system supports it. I know my wife's new Nissan doesn't, and our older Toyota tried and mostly failed.

But as Rey mentioned, the best way to check is to have one that DOES work in a car and then see if Jag even claims to support it.

Has anyone with a '13 XK or XKR been able to load a CD and see data? I don't know if the system is the same in a '12 model. The system in my '11 XJ is completely different and it does read the CD data--the XK system is more like the one in the XF.

I'm resurrecting this thread to see if I can get a response from anyone with a '13 XKR or XK to see if you have loaded any CD's that give you artist, album, and song information in the touchscreen display when played. Anyone?
