CD player prob on 2007 XK

Anyone can help out with this?
Changed battery on my XK 07 for new one and now can not play CDs. Ghost display for CDs in magazine only. have reconnected battery twice. No change. What's to be done here. Everything else functional.

PS anyone any experience with those new wheel socks for snow driving?

My guess (based on experience with CD changers in other cars) is that the CD changer is not being recognised; your dealer can reflash for recognition - some private shops also have the software to do this.
