Default CD Slot Phone Holder and Mod

Hi all.

I was looking at options for a phone holder for the xk. I wanted to get this for viewing gauges on the Torque Pro app, streaming music etc... My requirements were specific. I didnt want to mount anything on my leather dashboard and i didnt want to mount my phone in one of my vents either. I came across a pretty solid feeling mount which mounts in the CD slot (i never use the cd player anyway). To fit the vehicle CD slot opening, a foam pad (thinnest for the xk) is applied to the part that gets inserted which creates a nice snug fit. Once mounted the height seems good with minimal obstruction if any. However, I didnt stop there. I wanted to jazz it up a bit and make it feel like something that was made for the car. With the help of an older post from Stuart S., I ordered the small metal Jaguar label from modsticker.com and affixed that to the facing to show the Jaguar brand.I think the results look pretty good. If anyone's interested, you can view the items references below. Also see my pics as well.

Jagtoes - Yes you can play CDs with the phone holder in place. I have been using a similar device for over a year. Mine is magnetized as I didn't to bother with clamp every time I put the phone in or out - virtually every time I use the cat. If you are interested you can find the phone holder either in Ebay or Amazon.

jagtoes - just to confirm, and as ralphwg stated above, CDs play no problem with the holder inserted into the CD slot.
