Default Changing to LED headlights need help

2015 xkr. I didn’t have any issues changing the main lights to LED. But how do you access the turn signal lights? I don’t see any way in and the lights are sealed… has anyone done the front headlight side turn signals and the dash? Thanks

I dont know if the unit between a 2008 and 2015 are different however some advice as the underlying system maybe the same. I kept my HIDS but wanted the other bulb's to be LED, I bought expensive canbus safe LED bulbs so should not have any errors however this was not the case. My dash lit up like a Christmas tree with bulb failures relating to the indicators, stop/tail lights etc. The only ones which took as LED were the white side lights which come on when you turn the wheel. To wire in ballasts to ensure the correct voltage is returned would be a massive headache especially on the side indicators. As stated I did not cheap out on the bulbs went to ABD to get them, if you want PM me and if you cover posting I will send you the bunch I have ballasts included.

To switch out the bulbs its better to remove the headlight its 2 bolts on the light under the bonnet and one in the wheel arch you should then be able to access all the bulbs without issues

I removed the head lights. The main headlights were easy as there was a round access hole. The side turn signals have no opening and it looks like the only way to access is to remove the headlight lens and access from the front but I don’t know how to remove the lens.

Your owners manual lays out the procedure for changing the bulbs.

I suspect the reason you’re not getting helpful responses is that most of the experienced owners on here have cars older than the 2012 facelift. So we have no experience with those headlights.
Since you have LED DRLs in those headlights, I assumed the turn signals were LED as well, and if so, are sealed in, as they weren’t expected to fail (during the warranty period anyway). If that’s the case, and you need to replace one, the only way in is to ‘bake’ them open.

I could be wrong, but looking at this broken 2014 headlight (from an eBay listing), it looks like everything else is LED in there.

thank you! I guess I have some LED bulbs I need to return. You don’t by any chance know if the rear brake lights and reverse lights are LED do you?

On your 2015, the rear tail/brake/turn/backup, are all LED. Those units are all LED.
