My 2014 XKR began throwing a CEL a few weeks ago due to a P2402-00. “Evaporative emissions system leak”. I began with the least expensive solution, a fuel cap. No luck. Took it to a shop who did a smoke test and found a leaking plastic pipe. Easy fix. But of course, it wasn’t the culprit. They ran a 2nd smoke test and found “the carbon canister and leak detection pump are leaking vapors, causing the CEL”. The repair estimate is $1300. Does that seem reasonable?
