Hi. I have checked the cap and it seems fine, although that doesn't mean that it's creating enough of a seal.

Any specific things to no look for now?

A visual inspection of your gas cap isn't enough. You're right about the seal. Take your XKR to an emissions inspection center and have them test your gas cap on their machine. My bet is that it's leaking and you need a new gas cap.
