Default Cold Startup RPM ?

Hey guys, I'm just curious if you experience this as well. On a cold startup (XKR not started for a day or so) the RPM needle is roughly at 1000-1500 for 30-45 seconds after the initial start. It then goes below 1000rpm and stabilizes after it warms up a bit. Is this normal? I'm just curious. Thanks, Mike

Seems normal to me -- mine does that.

I don't own an XKR but my 4.2L 08 XK does the same thing. I won't engage a gear until the RPM's dip below 1000 RPM's though.
