Coolant for 1998 XK
I've been scouring the archives for information about the proper coolant for a 1998 XK. From what I've seen and read it seems that jaguar changed their coolant types somewhere around 1999. I'm assuming that my 1998 uses the old-school green coolant that we've all come to know and love. Later years used the orange coolant. What is the cut off year? Did I get most of that correct? I'm assuming that the green coolant is the proper one for a 1998 XK. Thanks in advance.
Refer to the vehicle Owner's Manual, JTIS or the Workshop Manual for the correct coolant type as they cannot be mixed.
Typically, the AJ-V8 requires coolant meeting Jaguar specification WSS M97B44-D. This is an orange coolant such as DEX-COOL or Motorcraft, which can be purchased from local parts houses for about 18$US.
