Default door actuator questions..

2013 xkr. I have a clicking sound inside my driver's side door panel. It doesn't continuously click. Only ever 15 seconds and after I drive the car for 10 minutes. The door locks work as they should. Couple questions: I searched and can't find one post on the x150 forum relating to any door actuator issues. I'm guessing this is not a common problem.
Also, I thought the small plastic gears inside the actuator only engage when the door lock is activated? Why would I hear the clicking sound every 15 seconds? Could it be someone else in the door causing this clicking sound?

Do your doors autolock after rolling a few feet?

Took it for a few short 10 minute drives. No clicking this time at all.
Yes, both door handles lock as they should when I reach a few miles an hour. I will update if the clicking comes back and gets worse and I will then have to replace the actuator. Brand new they cost $230.......

Please pardon the question but to be sure, the fob buttons are not being inadvertently pressed? (As in the fob is in your pocket as opposed to the dock)

No I always keep the fob on the passenger seat. Strange that I have to drive the car for 15 minutes to hear the clicking sound? Could this be something else in the door? Could the window motor have issues and cause its gears to click?

Simply, yes to all of the above. Only an inspection will tell.
