I didn't like Windows 10 either to start, but it's actually more stable than XP and seven and such. What I DON'T like is it's like a Nanny now... it's difficult to find some settings and to change things that Bill doesn't want you to change.
That's one of my big issues with 10. I have WIN 10, which I update every now and then - after the last update it would not let me download files in any web browser - something they changed in the settings with the update. I didn't want to spend time looking through the zillions of settings to find out which one is affecting it. Grrrr. Maybe the next update will have rectified the issue.
Never had issues with stability on WIN 7 Pro. Plus I have bought software that won't run on 10.
Presumably you have looked for and removed the related cookies?
I certainly have, and gone deeper. I deleted every cookie that I didn't "need", as in remember login and settings and such. I only have (had) like five left after the purge.
I’m having terrible problems with Firefox as well today. I’m using windows 7 and I constantly get a message about Firefox reading.." Sorry, Firefox can't be installed. This version of firefox requires Microsoft Window 10X64 or newer".. Windows 10 will soon be unable to get updates as well. Love my windows 7 until today. The damn message comes up constantly and I have no clue how to get rid of it. Damn Obsolesence! Should I start by deleting my cookies?
I use firefox as well. (albeit on mac). @Cee Jay , with the number of ads on the site and references and content demands of external sites, (called CORS in the business). I suspect you have a plugin enabled that’s causing you grief.
Apologies for responding here @Graham …. but its on you…. you didn’t move the thread;-)
For those who have a dislike of Windows 10 or 11, I've found Linux to be considerably less intrusive, dictatorial or bloated with options i neither need nor want.. Firefox also performs better.
My preference is Linux Mint but there's several other varieties available.

Cheers everybody!
A couple things about this...
I already disabled every plug-in and nothing changed. When I deleted Firefox ALL my plug-ins were gone. The problem persisted. Just on this forum though.
And about plug-ins... HOLY CRAP!!!! How do you people deal with ALL THE ADS??? I didn't even realize how intrusive these things were because I've been ad-free for years. You damn well better believe I put my adblock back on first thing. I'll probably get yelled at because the Vendor Ads are also gone, but oh well. I'd probably not post (or read much) if I had to deal with it all.
