Wink First Drive Since Thanksgiving!

That CTEK worked like a charm. Put the XK in unheated storage with a full tank of gas and 40 psi in the tires. Today I drove her 80 miles home. Started right up without an issue and adjusted psi. Tucked the CTEK dongle behind the battery area liner. No electronic issues, all the preset are as they were. My seating position is now a little different. Been driving my better half's Range Rover all winter.

Amazing how smooth and refined the XK's ride is. The light but communicative and telepathic steering. Rich smell of leather. Wow, the headroom is less than I remember. So much nicer a V8 than the BMW V8 in the RR; that's for sure.

Will get an oil change this week. Going by Costco to pick up some Mobil1. Kept the Baldwin filter in the corner when I stored it. My original plan was to drive it right to the mechanic to change oil; did not happen... drove right home.

I am so happy to hear that the CTEK worked it's magic for you. It is one awesome little device. It had to be exciting to get the XK out of storage....enjoy.

Truthfully and not being sarcastic......The CTEK should come as standard equipment as the owner's manual and spare tire does.

You think a spare tire comes as standard nowadays?

My "spare tire" is AAA's flat bed truck.

Spare tires may not come standard nowadays but it makes sense to have one where it belongs in the spare tire wheel well. Jaguar has not eliminated the wheel well.

The CTEK doesn't come standard either and it makes whole lot of sense to have one hooked to your battery especially in light of the battery problems that so many owners face.

Just because they are not standard, doesn't mean they don't belong.

It's not standard when a buy a new house or rent an apartment that it is stocked with "toilet paper". It just makes sense that you go out and buy it.

I can't imagine having my car in storage for months, but I live in south Texas. I have been driving my BMW 850 for the past few days as it is raining and I want to keep the XK clean. Still, can't wait for it to dry out so I can get back in the Jag. Enjoy!
