As in years ago the ROTW had provisions to repair manual gear boxes as they aren't that complicated. An AT gearbox required special tools so there aren't to many places still in today's age that can repair them. The cost difference has a tendency to keep manuals but if you look at the US my bet is they will go extinct. After all how would you ride in a driverless car with a stick. HAhaha

I have a friend who had been special ordering Camrys with a manual transmission. He just replaced his old Camry and was unable to order a stick shift. Sticks are no longer violable in the U S.
