In England: A penny spar'd is twice got (1600's)

That's before the world of complex compounding interest. And income tax.

So a silver car is cheaper. To spend a $100 a year on car washes, one has to earn $140.
All while the debt at the pawn shop is multiplying at an astronomical rate. Whereas, that $140 could grow exponentially elsewhere.

I have one silver XKR (not pictured) and one black. I wash them both on the same intervals using tap water and drying with chamois (old school). No soap or wax so far, although i am tempted to purchase spray bottle of wax for black cars. Look like bottle costing $9.55-13.99 depending on brand will last better part of the year.

Not sure where you can invest your $140 and have it grow exponentially these days--at least over short term. Bitcoin? Interest rates on time deposits in US banks is about .01%. Investing the $1400 in the stock market might seem like a sure-fire get rich play based on immediate past results and average returns over longer periods, but buying into a market while it is at current all time highs risks the same sort of sudden devastating financial shock that XK/XKR owners experience when the chain tensioners let go on the freeway.

You could wash your own car in your non-productive time which might otherwise be wasted on television (or internet) and put the $140 saved (money twice got) toward the purchase of another XKR for when the first one is in the shop. Value of the XKR may not increase exponentially, but it sure looks good sitting there.

Right you are; if it was a dead-cert, it would be odds-on, and bookies wouldn't be so eager to take our money.

Not all is at an all-time-high, hospital stocks are at an all-time-low. EVHC is one, and a good one. Market was at an all time high 5 years ago when it went exponentially beyond that. Its anyone's guess. But healthcare is a growing business.

Get this trivia: the company that owns the largest health care company in the world, also owns this website.

I agree its not easy to grow money. That's why Ben and I see eye to eye that it is easier to make money by saving. An example that comes to mind, most buy their medical marijuana monthly from a local dealer. I would buy the year's supply or more, because clearly there is enough margin in the bulk to sustain a middleman's livelihood. To me saving 30% on something I have to spend on is the same as making 45% interest (more if the capital is gained outside of stocks)

Model Mayhem

Main article: Jane Doe No. 14 v. Internet Brands, Inc.
In May 2008 Internet Brands bought Model Mayhem from the original developers Donald and Taylor Waitt. Between 2006 and 2011 Lavont Flanders and Emerson Callum used Model Mayhem to contact women, arrange to meet them, drug them and then rape them while filming them, later publishing the video as pornography. Internet Brands allege that Tyler Waitt was aware of the investigation into Flanders and Callum at the time of the sale and are refusing to pay him for the site. Waitt in turn sued Internet Brands. One of Flanders's and Callum's victims is suing Internet Brands for failing to notify her of the danger posed by Flanders and Callum."

Cool, man.

I assumed right, not many know that.

Indeed, there is a world that we pedestrians are supposed to see, and then there is reality.

What else does it show us? not all is readily known with a google search.

BTW, do some of you realize what that means.
That a healthcare company owns the social club you belong too...
It means some of your posts can be used to dismiss claims of Parkinson's /dementia/ PTSD as preexisting.

CJ, Q&C,

Thank you for the useful posts and the references to the Wikipedia articles which provide some insight into the origin of the forum and its sponsors. Up until now, i had not given much thought to either. The articles provide a glimpse into the underpinnings of the net and the self-interests of those who keep the machinery greased. Useful information.

I want to make sure my point is not conflated and notably distanced with what CJ wrote.

The company that owns this site now is bigger than god and don't get involved in the hanky-panky and said pettiness.

In fact the history cited has no bearing with current owners, which is not Internet Brands.

Evidently nobody at Internet Brands knows that they own a phenomenally huge corporation either. IB is still listed as Owner of this site.

I need to have ceramic done next and then learn to properly clean and maintain her.

Just like our door stickers say Jaguar.

There is always more than meets the eye if you are an inquiring mind.
There is nothing more than your mind's eye if you are the self-assured type.

Both equally blissful. Being the circumspect type I left it at a state where all can feel good.

I have to clean it every Sunday just to keep it looking nice! Bloody black, looks sweet as nuts though when it's clean.

Give it up already, you lost. Now, if your next post isn't about Black Cars, go away.

I was just showing grace my friend,
..because you had put race/mental linearity into question.
You are hilariously wrong and righteous at that. My point demonstrated.

I agree not all black cars make sense. Jaguar XKR coupe is possibly one car that makes natural sense as a black car. Even more than the Ftype. Its a big black rare cat. It lends itself really well to that image, more so than other vehicles.

That really is a stunning picture. Although I swore I would never buy another black car I am glad my new XKR is as well. Only a couple more weeks until I get my hands on it!
