Default HELP with convertible top

The hood will not latch or lock down. I manually lowered it and the top is in the recessed area but will not latch in place. The top would not retract with the switch so I did it manually following instructions in the manual. But hood lid will not latch. Any suggestions?

Use the search box in the upper right corner with the following search phrase hood or convertible top will not latch. If that doesn't help you solve your issue pm Whitexkr. He is our "in house " expert and a very nice guy. You can also find him at https://www.thejagwrangler.com/. His name is Steve. Good luck.

Maybe a stupid question, but is there anything at all in the boot which may interfere? The top comes down and occupies the area above the bottom half of the battery cover panel and towards the rear. Anything in the way and the top will not fit properly.

And you know that your battery is young and *fully* charged? Problems with the top are often early signs of a battery putting out insufficient voltage.

MIne did this a couple of times too and i realized it's a simple fix and what you've done is WAY TOO MUCH to try to fix this when it's only experiencing a glitch. All u gotta do is turn the car off,get out of the car and lock all the doors and wait a while possibly.Unlock the doors, turn the car on or don't start the engine at all press the switch on without cranking whichever works best and try to let the roof do its thing the regular way as it should and it usually return back to normal for me and does like it suppose to.I also experience this problem when it gets really bad where the roof don't want to act correctly only when the battery is low and about to die or if you not driving it enough where u not letting the alternator charge the battery enough to give it juice.Changed the battery and it rarely gives me the roof glitch whenever i let down the top.1 day i won't driving the car for long periods of time and it gave me the roof not latching problem and i found out it's the low battery voltage causing it.Once i got the battery voltage back to its normal output, roof not latching problem GONE!
