My 2010 XK Coupe now has 8,150 miles. I purchased it with 4,825 miles 1 1/2 years ago. I'm sure there won't be many more miles put on the car as my daily reliable driver is an 01 Lexus LS430. Jag still smells new, original deep tread on tires and not a problem since I purchased it. My daughter might be happy one day unless I decide to get an R8! But that will make it necessary to reach deep into pockets.........

We all have a different reason for either putting little or a lot of miles on our cars. I'll take a few minutes as to my change in philosophy. I had owned various sports type cars and sedans over my life. 16 years ago I bought my dream car of my youth. It was a 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB and I got it with 31K miles on it. I loved the car and was greatfull I could be it's caretaker. I owned the car for 14 years and only put another 32K miles on it. I decided to sell it as I didn't drive it although it was a fun car to drive and everyone who saw it loved it. I guess I was afraid of driving it even though every time I took it out I would do a typical Ferrari tune up run. Now turn the page as I am in my 70's and wanted a fun car as maybe my last sports type car. Thus I came back to Jaguar and wanted a convertible. Now back to mileage as I am in the red zone of my life and whether I put 8K miles on a year or 15K the time is to now enjoy the ride. I still have the low mileage syndrome but am trying to get over it. I am now at driving it 4 times a week and every time I take it out the top comes down and the DSC button is pushed. In a way I'm sorry because I've saved most of my other cars for the next owner but this one is for me. So all I can say is enjoy the ride as life is short . OK I'm heading out after I load up my golf clubs for a 11:30 tee time .

I hear you on that one - shorter for some than others. As some of the crew know, my health isn't great, so I try & enjoy the Beast by driving it more than I did with previous cars. As I'm home-based for work, I don't commute, but when I have to travel, I'm less likely to take the train or other public transport than in the past. Although motorway driving is not exactly entertainment, it's more fun than sitting on a train.
Gotta get the damn thing back on the autobahn...
