I can give you hundreds... these cars have been "dressed up" to look like little damage happened and sent back to auction for a quick flip and hopes of turning a quick dollar at the expense of someone relying on the pictures. These people need to be stopped and the auctioneers need to clean up their act. The history of the car, which the auctioneers have, should be disclosed. However, the auctioneers are legally fighting to shut down websites like salvaged.com that expose them. Salvagedb.com is no longer allowed to use the pictures from the auctions.

 

Here's an Audi R8. Some unscrupulous reseller dressed it up with a new hood and glued on the front wheel to make it look better. If you should buy one of these wrecks at an auction it is yours--you own it. If you go back to the auctioneers to tell them it is a mess they say "where as is as" you can re-auction it. they make money again and encourage it. If you tell them the car is unrepairable and damaged beyond repair and ask them what they can do. They will tell you they will make it look good.

DGL, great examples of the scum of the industry. I will say if your in the industry and don't follow, check vins and inspect the car before bidding you deserve what ya get.

Hey DGL, I got this emailed to my dealer email today. Now I totally understand what your talking about. I scanned this site, totals with clean titles..... what a pile of crap they are to sell these death traps. Again, not all people, buyers, sellers or repair facilities are scammers like this but WOW I was rather shocked. I loved reading the fine print about how no matter what issued you have with title, registration or verifying anything about the car they are NOT responsible for.
