OMG! When I first saw the preview for your post I thought that you were putting the leaper on the bonnet. I have seen an XK driving around town with the leaper on the bonnet and I must say I think it looks absolutely terrible! I have a 1998 XJ and I think it looks great.

It pretty much looks good on all XJ's up until the 2011MY. I have been debating as to whether or not to install the leaper to the rear spoiler of my XK like the 2012MY. I feel it may be a bit redundant since the hatch plinth has Jaguar written across it. I am however thinking about getting a body colored plinth, having my auto body fill the letters and repaint. Not sure yet.

Haha, that looks pretty good! I think I may pick up one when I go to the dealership later this afternoon.

LOL....I did put one last year (in that pic) but when I upgraded to the XKRS spoiler I never bought another one. I'm thinking of painting mine black cuz my xkr is mostly blacked out. If it doesn't look good in black then I'll take it off.

Did you use the one from the XK model or one from and XF? The XF leaper runs around $80.

I have found two sizes of these badges available, 160x34mm and 134x31mm long?

Can I ask which size you guys used?

Thanks.

GrahamS,

I would but I dropped it off this morning to get it painted. The one I got is......Leaper (part no. C2Z11308): $87.14. Mine is the same as the XF. I probably won't get mine back until Thursday and so if you haven't gotten the size by then....I'll let you know at that time.

Is the curvature of the spoiler an issue with mounting?

OEM Spoiler should be fine...per Rodney's pic.

As for the XKRS spoiler....I'm thinking it should be fine also as the leaper is semi flexible plus the 2012 XKR has the XKRS spoiler and so it should be ok I'm guessing from the below pic. I'll let you know once I get the leaper back though.....

I remembered I did measure the leaper at one time and it came just under 6.5 inches in length....hope that helps. I had to measure as I was looking into black chroming the leaper at one time but decided to just have it painted gloss black instead. Maybe Rodney or someone else can check to see what their leaper measures out.
