Introduction
Hi everyone! I'm hopefully going to be buying an XKR in the near future. I prefer a coupe and 2007 or newer. I was wondering if there was anything I need to be especially watchful for? I apologize if this has been asked 100 times before, but I did a search and couldnt really find any common problems. Any advice is greatly appreciated. This site has a ton of useful information and I have days and days of reading/research ahead of me.
For now, the search continues...

Aesthetic changes were also made in 2010 and again in 2012 but there was no performance difference in 2012.

Thanks for the response and the links, good info there. Unfortunately my budget tops out at 35K so a 2010+ is out of the question for now.
One of my current cars is a 97 Lincoln Mark VIII. I've had it for 12 years and I think its time to move on. If I'm going to sell that car there's got to be something special to replace it, and I cant think of anything better than an XKR. I have always loved these cars!

Personally I prefer a 2007 - 2009 XKR to a 2010 XK. It's more rare, and just seems more special, regardless of the upgrades of the 2010. I mean, when the next XK comes out (assuming it's better), are we going to treat the current XK as if it sucks, just because it's not as good, even though it was a great car when it came out??
You gotta love when someone says they want to buy a 2007 XKR and then somebody suggests buying a newer car for twice the price because it's "significantly better." Some of us actually live on a budget, you know!
That being said, It would make the most sense to buy an earlier XKR (2007, 2008). If you are comparing a 2009 XKR versus a 2010 XK, there's probably not much difference in price.
I say go for it. Compared to the competition, this car is very dependable and reliable. That does not mean that it won't require constant maintenance and attention, though.

You have a point about the antenna. I was very concerned about this when I first started shopping. Then I realized it was such a minor detail. I simply unplugged the fuse for the power antenna motor and it never comes up. I don't listen to radio, though. That's what the satellite radio and cd is for! I would want an aux input, though. Do they still sell the ACM (Audio Connectivity Module)?

Thank you all for the replies. I would love to have a 2010+ XKR, but with a wife and 2 kids, mortgage, utilities, and Uncle Sam's paycheck, its not going to happen. Perhaps in a few years when I retire from the Corps and get a real job it will be more feasible.
I prefer the interior and exterior styling of the 2007+ over the earlier models, to me it looks more modern. Just my opinion, please dont take offense.
I have been looking nationally (cars.com) and have found a few with ~30K miles for a decent price. Multiple times in the past I have flown 1000+ miles away to buy a car and driven it home. In a way I prefer to do this. It gives me time to "bond" with my new purchase. What other websites are good for searching for cars? I've used auto trader but cars.com renders more results. I'm open to try other sites though.
Thanks again for all the advice.
