Default iPhone integrated music controls quit working

A few weeks ago when attempting to plug in my iPhone 4S via the Jaguar center console connector, the interface just quit working. I can scroll through the playlists (even though they're not always correct) and choose a song, but it never plays and says "No Entry" where the song title/info usually is. To play a song, I have to select it from the iPhone directly, but after that can rarely change the song via the car and "Mix" will not work.

Any ideas??

Thanks,
Everest

Can you explain this center console interface? Where exactly is it located? Do you know of it came in 08 MY? I looked but did not see anything I could plug my iPhone into??

I mean in the back of the center console storage behind the cup holders. I have a cord from Jaguar that plugs my iPhone or iPod into the "iPod" slot. Not sure which models/years have it.

Thanks for the clarification. Guess it was an option my car does not have or did not become and option until later MY. I REALLY wish I had that option.

The 'Auxiliary input panel' for iPod & USB was standard for MY09 onwards. I don't think it can be fitted to pre-09 cars, because it requires a USB module (in the boot) that is plumbed into the high-speed audio ring that connects all the audio elements.

CORRECTION: I was wrong, it appears there is an Audio Connectivity Module option that can be fitted to pre-09 cars

Getting back to the original problem: mine has done that "no Mix" and "no song selection" thing a couple of times. It also wouldn't let me skip tracks. However, it cleared itself the next time I used the car.

You may want to try a 'hard reset' of the portable audio module by pulling the fuse for it (fuse 24 in the rear compartment fuse box) & waiting 5 mins before reinserting. If that doesn't fix it, try doing the same with fuse 21 for the audio, info & entertainment modules.

Google 'Jaguar ACM'.

It can be fitted as an accessory to the early XK's (from VIN B00379 onwards) and, as Ngarara, says became standard in the 2009 MY.

Ngarara,

I actually found that I don't have a fuse in the #24 spot (think this need to be replaced?), so I just pulled and replaced #21 and it's working now. Hopefully, it will stay fixed! It was nice to see that all of my settings and presets were not lost.

Thanks for the help!

Sorry, my mistake - the 4.2 doesn't have anything in Fuse 24. It looks like the ACM is plumbed into the back of the touchscreen somewhere. Fuse 24 is where the standard iPod/USB interface is connected on the 5.0 models.
