Default RE: ipod interface

I'm looking to buy this april/may and was considering a 2008 on the lot but the 2009's are arriving in June. I heard they will have the iPod connector already installed standard. Will that give full on screen use of the iPod with track info and such or will it be the same as the delaer installed option? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Fulmitz

I have one which was dealer installed in my XKR, and it sounds like others here either have it or have installed them, seems that would be all the proof you need that it actually exists.

Default RE: ipod interface

Does the "Ipod" interface kit work fully only with Apple products or will it function with other mp3 devices?
Thanks

I'm resurrecting this thread from death....

On my '07 XK with premium sound is there a solution to AUX output my ipod or iphone through the stereo? It's been several years since the last post here, so I'm hoping for any updated info. Thanks

You need the Audio Connectivity Module, part no. CSP 16491. Do a search on here; someone posted a link to the installation instructions (I have a copy, so PM me if you can't find it)

Can't I just have a dumb AUX input like you get on a $200 car stereo from back in 2005?

This Module business sounds expensive. any idea on total cost?

No, you can't have an Aux jack in a $90,000 car!

$275 for the module if you DIY then $150 or so at the Jaaaag dealer to reflash the headunit to recognize the new input. It sucks I know because I did it. It's the best/only way.

I got around all this malarkey by putting all my 8,000+ songs on a 128GB flash drive and stuck it in the USB port. Course, 2010s and later are different than the older models. Bad part, I still need another billion songs to fill up the flash, only used 32GB of it so far.
