Default Jag Wrangler Remote Top Module

I have been meaning to post this for some time but just failed to do so. About 2 years ago I purchased the top remote module from Jag Wrangler and intended to have the dealer install it. They were reluctant (car was still under extended warranty) and as well they estimated the charge to be $1,500!!! I think I paid around $900 for the module, don’t remember. Anyway I decided to do it myself. It took me about 5 hours and involves removing the back seat and the drivers side rollover protection unit. However, other than having to squeeze my 70 year old body into the back area it was uneventful. This is the best gift I have given me and my Jag. You can remotely open the top with the fob by pressing unlock 3 times as well you can close everything up by pressing lock 3 times. It also has the option for one touch on the top switch in the car so you don’t have to hold it down. You can also lower and raise rear windows with the top up or down. Nice to have an open car with the top up. The only problem I have experienced is having a valet retrieve the car when it was raining and apparently he pressed unlock 3 times and opened the top. I assume this company is still in business. During the installation I hit a couple of bumps and they responded within minutes to help me through. Hope this helps someone.

(NOTE: list price for the kit including the optional rear window controller is $299.95 plus shipping. Added by GGG)

Good to hear you are another satisfied user of TheJagWrangler's convertible top remote control. The cost of this excellent upgrade is considerably lower than you recollect!

Last August I drove to DC to spend a few hours visiting relatives and dropped my '08 off at Steve's. He did my installation (hey, go to the source for the best, right?).

In addition to Steve being a great guy to talk with, his installation was perfect, the product works perfectly, his price was reasonable and I couldn't be happier. The total cost was significantly less than what you listed.

Without question this is the best mod you can do to the car.

Yeah, I only procrastinated for 5-6 years LOL. I finally got around to installing it a few months ago, Very easy and the directions are among the best I've ever followed.
