XK will never be again,
Look at the Ftype and every Jaguar since,
None of them have anything quintessentially Jaguar, in fact, they could pass for any other brand.
The problem is hip man-bun toting millennials have no association to that sort of character.
So why would you make a refined larger version of the Ftype when what the consumer wants is more visceral.
The concept of a grand-tourer itself is all but dead, these guys take uber everywhere.

What I observe is that most of those wanting Jaguar to make a new XK would never buy a new XK.
In fact, I'm not sure most wanting a new XK have ever even bought a new Jaguar.
The F-type is what made me consider Jaguar, but I found the X150 to better suit me.
However, a base brand new F-type was something I could afford without a loan, and the price of a new XK was not.
The XK's replacement is the Lexus LC500, the MSRP is similar. It even has a 5.0L V8.

Agreed, with the new design. What do you think about this, especially the interior?

They were both in no-man's land in their proportions. Neither large enough to make a statement, nor small enough.

Was at the Malibu Autobahn meetup this morning at Zuma Beach with my Pantera, and I was parked next to a white Vantage and a whole Aston contingency was parked nearby. I always thought that they previous genration Vantage was amongst the most perfectly designed automobiles ever, great proportions, lovely details, just about perfect. This new Vantage is just ugly! Horrible, butt ugly wide mouth bass lower front grill, stupid looking and poor fitting side stamping where a grill/vent used to be. Nothing about the new Vantage appeals to me. The Vanquish Volante still has what made Aston famous, STYLE, ELEGANCE, everything the Vantage has lost.

I like the new Vantage and it's a hell of a performer.
The Vanquish pointed out earlier the thread is quite the car, but one accident and that's all she wrote. The large carbon fiber pieces used on the Vanquish are going to be very difficult to replace.
Jaguar has lost its elegance and no longer caters to the buyers created the image and association it had. Not saying whether that is good or bad for the marque, but the way it is.

With all the fanfare of Downton Abbey, The Kingsmen, and Royals; selling a car that has the most bright work and wood should be their direction.

Anglophilia might be booming but memory of elegance is all but lost.
How many even bother dressing up halfway to board a plane.
This generation does not know what it is like to be on a train, plane, or in public where people carry themselves and are presentable.
Also they have no concept of quality or longevity, we chose brightwork because it was the toughest longest lasting finish. They choose vinyl wrap cause it imitates something.
And they double-down on overstated- the vantage we saw was screaming loud neon green, as if to one-up the poor rice-burners for whom neon vinyl makes sense.
The Ferrari on exhibit was a dull maroon with a satin finish, the Ftype was dull maroon with satin finish. Point being Ferrari abandoned its heritage red for a trade show.
