Default Lazy passenger (LH) side mirror

Mirror usually retracts ok but doesn’t always deploy fully during unlocking sequence. Bit of a squeaky nylon sound and a partial deployment sometimes. Is there a way to get some lube in there onto the vertical hinge without a complete mirror strip down? ( not that technically proficient)

You may find that the oxidation (rusting) of the aluminium armature is hampering the movement.
Protect the paint on the door, and give it a good shot of a cleaner. Move it back and forth a few times, Rinse, then apply the lubricant.
WD-40 is cr*&(^p.

Graphite spray is what I use for such things, no greasy residue to attract dirt.

Thanks Guy, where should I be spraying? Just on the outside or is there a way to get it more directly onto the hinge?

If I recall correctly, I had better access by removing the cover.

I think this may be resolved… managed to get some spray into the gaps in the plastic and it appears to have stopped squeaking now when it deploys. Thank you for the contributions.
