I think balancing a growler of beer would be quite challenging, especially on fast turns...

Hii Carl, I am in Australia. I bought the leaper about 10 months ago from England. I paid 75 UK pounds which converted to $147 Australian dollars. USA prices were a little cheaper but the USA dealers would not ship to Australia. The price from Jaguar Australia was well above $200 Australian. The company I bought from is called Adamesh, Unit 4, Youngs Industrial, Bedfordshire, LU7 4QB UK.Their email address is info@adamesh.co.uk
I had no problem attaching it to the car, the self adhesive pad takes up the curvature of the trunk surface. I will take an image of the leaper on my car later today.
Cheers Mark (Australia)

Hii Carl, Image

attached. In this position, it sits flat on the trunk slightly curved surface, with the adhesive foam taking up the difference. It has been on for 10 months, through one summer of up to 40 degrees C and has not lifted anywhere. Cheers Mark (Australia)

Yep, it sticks up at both ends. Which begs the question, if it really is an OEM badge why is it flat so that it sticks up at the ends, when my OEM F-Type leaper is most definitely curved inwards (concave)? Or is this just an XK thing that they fixed on the F-Type, never mind the two year overlap?

I first fitted a cheap ebay leaper to my '07 rear & as it was flat I had to pack the ends with extra double sided tape in order to get it to stick. I later replaced it with a genuine one which was curved & fitted perfectly

A few posts earlier I described the OEM Jaguar XK/XKR leaper part number C2P21575 as being "flat" . This is from memory 10 months ago before attaching to the car. I may have been mistaken in that it may have been slightly curved. I have tried to show with the images that it sits on the car without gaps. My images fail to show this and are causing confusion. I do not know the size or shape of the OEM F type Jaguar leaper, I only researched the XK/XKR leaper. I apologise for any confusion I have caused.

It's easy to confuse flat with slightly curved, the OEM F-Type leaper curve is very subtle and barely noticeable, dunno about the OEM XK leaper.

When I sold my BMW Z4 and bought my 2010 XK vert, I called my wife to come down to the dealership to take a look.
She always wanted a JAG and when she got there I saw a puzzled look on her face, she said "Where's the leaper ?"
I posted on here where could I find one and many sent me a source for one from a Co. the specialized in JAG parts.
I think more people recognize the leaper quicker than the name.

I agree that the leaper makes the car more recognizable as a Jaguar. I rarely see other XK/XKR on the road and when I do its often the same car seen perhaps once in 6 months. I have had my E Type for 37 years and and was not aware of the XK/XKR until about 4 years ago when I saw this model at a car show. Cheers Mark (Australia)

As it is nearly a decade since the last XK/XKR, a lot of people doesn’t recognise what car/brand it is. I do have a leaper as well and have noticed when I’m on the road that quite a few cars comes up to my rear and then backs off instead of overtaking.😎The leaper is very recognizable contra the Jaguar name wich is not easy to see.😉

Thanks gts055. Posting an email to check on stock and price (non-VAT?) for a Yank with shipping to the States. Thanks for the referral.

This is on the back of my 99 XKR Coupe. Just a small one .... ooh er matron.. . but it is more subtle... I think that a large one.... fnarr fnarr ... would not fit or look right on the back of an XK... you can get them on ebay for a few quid.
Regards 👍

Leave it off and keep them guessing. I get it all the time. What kind of car is this. Aston Martin, Maserati, Ive got Convertible GtR. 😩 When I tell them its a Jag. They think Im lying and start trying to find something on my car that supports the answer.

@Smitty99XKR
"This is on the back of my 99 XKR Coupe."

I see what you've done there mate. But the '99 boot is a bit different than the '08. Seems like the extra space I have will make it look nice.
{LOL: as a Yank, I had to look up your matron quote and your sniggering. Learning something new each day, eh?}
